Background:

Nassau County resident, Charles L. Albert, Jr., passed away on January 21, 2021. Mr. Albert was an outstanding resident who gave unsparingly of his time and knowledge teaching school for 35 years, serving his community through various boards and committees including the City of Fernandina Beach City Commission, and was the City's first and only African American Mayor.

 

The Board has expressed a desire to honor his legacy by presenting his family with a Resolution from the Board of County Commissioners.

Request:
Approve a Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Nassau County, Florida, honoring the life of Charles L. Albert, Jr.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
There is no financial impact, however recognizing individuals for their outstanding service and contributions creates a sense of community. It also brings awareness to the organizations and causes that he was so passionate about.

Approve a Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Nassau County, Florida, honoring the life of Charles L. Albert, Jr.
