The Capital Improvement Program for the County includes the extension of William Burgess Boulevard from US 17 to Miner Road. On behalf of the Board of County Commissioners, Engineering Services has requested funding with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the project.
FDOT and Nassau County have signed two grant agreements for the Right of Way acquisition, project design, construction, and construction engineering of the project. The first grant was authorized in February 2019 for $1,000,000, Contract No. CM2654. The second grant agreement was authorized in October 2019 for $1,000,000, Contract No. CM2745.
FDOT has submitted a third agreement to Nassau County in the amount of $900,000 to provide Right of Way acquisition and Engineering design for the new road construction of the William Burgess Boulevard Extension, Contract No. CM 2990.
The William Burgess Extension will allow the ability to connect residential neighborhoods to job centers, government services/offices, retail, entertainment and recreation opportunities.

Consider the following: 1) Consider a Resolution Authorizing the Execution of the Agreement Between the State of Florida Department of Transportation and the Board of County Commissioners of Nassau County, Florida for the William Burgess Extension; 2) Approve the State Funded Grant Agreement and Addendum, Contract No. CM2990, with FDOT in the amount of $900,000 for Right-of-Way acquisition and Engineering design for William Burgess Boulevard Extension from US 17 to Miner Road; 3) Approve the attached budget resolution and authorize the Chairman to sign.
