The site is approximately 130 acres and will be a campground for deserving children around the state. The request to exempt the sidewalks is for the protection of the kids and counselors. The closest sidewalk is 6.15 miles away and we need to keep the kids away from the main roads. Walk ways will be provided all around the campsite. Therefore, a sidewalk along the property frontage could cause more of a safety risk than a benefit as it is not typical for the area.
