Item Title:Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of Supplemental Agreement #1 (CM2807-A1) for the Design of Amelia Island Parkway Trail from SR A1A to Bailey Road

Background:

The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) and the Florida Department pf Transportation entered into a Local Agency Program (LAP) agreement in April 2020 for the Engineering design work on the Amelia Island Parkway Trail from SR A1A to Bailey Road.  The current expiration date of the LAP agreement, Contract No. CM2807, is June 30, 2021. 

 

The supplemental agreement, Contract No. CM2807-A1 extends the time to complete design and right of way requirements to June 30, 2024.  There is no change to the funding in the supplemental agreement.

Request:
Approve and Authorize the Chairman to sign a Resolution authorizing the execution of Supplemental Agreement #1, Contract No. CM2807-A1, between the State of Florida Department of Transportation, and the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners, extending the agreement to June 30, 2024 for the Engineering Design work of the Amelia Island Parkway Trail from SR A1A to Bailey Road (FDOT FIN # 437337-1-38-02).
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:

Design Services for the segment of the Amelia Island Parkway Trail from SR A1A to Bailey Road are funded by FDOT and costs for staff time to review the design plans are reimbursable through FDOT.  The Trail will allow for additional recreation and alternative transportation. After construction of the trail is completed, maintenance costs of the trail will need to be included in future operating budgets.

 


Action Requested and Recommendation:

Approve and Authorize the Chairman to sign a Resolution authorizing the execution of Supplemental Agreement #1, Contract No. CM2807-A1, between the State of Florida Department of Transportation, and the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners, extending the agreement to June 30, 2024 for the Engineering Design work of the Amelia Island Parkway Trail from SR A1A to Bailey Road (FDOT FIN # 437337-1-38-02).
