| | | | | | | | | Background: | | On May 24th, 2021 (Tab S), the Board authorized a Public Hearing to consider an application submitted by Kenneth Greene to abandon the right of way as described in the attached legal description and sketch. | | Request: | | Consideration of a Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Nassau County, Florida abandoning a Right-of-Way located at Deerfield Country Club Road. | | Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens: | | If approved, the County would no longer be responsible for the maintenance and repair of this portion of Deerfield Country Club road | | Action Requested and Recommendation: | Consideration of the request to abandon a portion of Deerfield Country Club Road as presented in the attached map.
Staff recommends approval considering traffic impacts to local citizens. If the abandonment is executed by the Board, the applicant’s development, Callahan Country RV and Water Park SP21-018, will gate the end of Deerfield Country Club Road, therefore, eliminating all commercial business traffic on the local road. Deerfield Country Club Road will only be used as emergency access as necessary.
