Item Title:American Beach Water and Sewer Straw Ballot Vote

Background:

The Board of County Commissioners of Nassau County, Florida, serving as the governing board of the American Beach Water and Sewer District (the “Board”) is contemplating the imposition of a non-ad valorem assessment within the District to fund the non-grant funded portion of the total project cost of central water and wastewater utility facilities constructed and installed within the District.

 

The Board has mailed survey ballots determine the level of support from Affected Property Owners within the District for the non-ad valorem assessment program to fund these identified improvements.

 

Within the American Beach Water and Sewer District, the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners owns six (six) parcels which entitles the Board of County Commissioners to respond to the Survey Ballot issued to Affected Property Owners.

If utilities are installed within the American Beach Water and Sewer District, non-ad valorem assessments would be imposed to each Affected Property Owner.  Exact assessments have yet to be determined and can vary by overall project costs.
