Background:
Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation, has requested a proclamation in observance of Gullah/Geechee Nation Appreciation Week which is recognized each year from July 31-August 8, 2021. Queen Quet will be in attendance to accept the Resolution.
Request:
Approve a Resolution proclaiming the week of July 31 through August 8, 2021 as Gullah/Geechee Nation Week in Nassau County, Florida.

The Gullah/Geechee Tribe has a rich and extensive history in Nassau County. Celebrating Gullah/Geechee Nation Week demonstrates the Board's support in spreading awareness regarding the history and and legacy of the Gullah/Geechee Tribe.

Approve a Resolution proclaiming the week of July 31 through August 8, 2021 as Gullah/Geechee Nation Week in Nassau County, Florida.
