Item Title:Public Hearing on an Ordinance Amending Article 5 Sec. 5.07(B) Site Development Plan Review, DRC

Background:

Florida House Bill 401 was approved by the Governor and will become effective on July 1, 2021.  HB401 is an amendment to Florida Statute, which requires in certain instances, that a local jurisdiction have an Architectural or Design Review Board in order to implement certain design standards on residential structures.

 

This Ordinance would amend Article 5, Section 5.07 (B), Site Development Plan Review, Development Review Committee, of the Land Development Code,  adding a provision for an Architectural or Design Review Board.  The addition is listed below:

g.    Serve as the County’s design review board and/or architectural review board in order to provide architectural and design review of various types of structures including, but not limited to, residential structures, non-residential structures, accessory structures or any other structure subject to architectural or design standards utilized by Nassau County.

Request:
Public Hearing on an Ordinance amending Article 5, Section 5.07 (B), of the Land Development Code, Site Development Plan Review, Development Review Committee.  Staff requests continuance to July 12, 2021.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
While there is not a financial impact to amending the Development Review Committee, this Ordinance will provide an Architectural or Design Review Board in order to implement design standards on residential structures within Nassau County.
