Item Title:Public Hearing re: Mobility Fee Plan

Background:

On June 16, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners set workshops on July 19 and 26, 2021 and a Public Hearing for Adoption of the Mobility Fee Plan for August 9, 2021.

 

Due to adoption timing regulated by Florida Statute 163.3227, the adoption of the Mobility Fee Plan must have two Public Hearings on August 23 and September 13, 2021.  Therefore, Staff is requesting continuance of the Public Hearing scheduled for August 9, 2021 to August 23, 2021 and for the Board to set a second Public Hearing on September 13, 2021.

Request:
Public Hearing for Adoption of the Mobility Fee Plan.  Staff requests a continuance of the Public Hearing to August 23, 2021 and to set a second Public Hearing for September 13, 2021.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
The proposed Mobility Plan and implementing the related Mobility Fee supports the expansion of the Nassau County Mobility Network’s capacity allowing for strategic investment that protects quality of life/quality of place, promotes economic expansion, creates of high-wage jobs, manages growth in a fiscally and sustainable manner, protects the public health, safety, and general welfare, and allows Florida to remain globally competitive.
Action Requested and Recommendation:
Public Hearing for Adoption of the Mobility Fee Plan.  Staff requests a continuance of the Public Hearing to August 23, 2021 and to set a second Public Hearing for September 13, 2021.
