| | | | | | | | | Background: | On June 14, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners approved the Lobbying, Debarment and Drug Free Workplace Certification, the EEO Requirements Form and the Internal Controls Questionnaire for submission of the 2021 JAG C Funds from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) in the amount of 39,917 for the project titled “2019 Drug Eradication and Special Response Team.” These funds will work to pay costs associated with the K9 Drug Unit and the Special Response Team in Nassau County.
On July 13, 2021, staff was notified that Nassau County has received the award and the Acceptance of Funding Assistance is required to be signed by the Chairman to accept the award. | | Request: | | Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign the Acceptance of Federal Funding Assistance for Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) funding totaling $39,917; and authorize Chairman to sign associated Budget Amendment. Funding Source: 15037521-331211 3B032. | | Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens: | | The JAG Funds assist the Sheriff's Office in paying the costs of the K9 Drug Unit and purchasing special equipment for the Special Response Team used in the apprehension of drug offenders.
