| | | | | | | | | Background: | The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) executed a contract on January 15, 2021 with Proshot Concrete for labor, materials, and equipment to perform routine bridge maintenance and repairs. Nassau County Engineering Services staff has reviewed this contract and spoken with representatives from Proshot Concrete and determined that a piggyback agreement will allow the County to perform bridge repairs and maintenance on an as needed basis for time and materials. The Contract has been reviewed by the County Attorney’s office, and a Piggyback Agreement Pursuant to Nassau County Purchasing Policy is being presented to the Board of County Commissioners for consideration.
Should the Board approve the Piggyback Agreement, Contract No. CM2995, staff have prepared a Work Authorization (CM2995-WA01) in the amount of $695,085 for bridge repairs as outlined on Exhibit A of the work authorization. It is anticipated that all work will be completed no later than January 31, 2022.

Bridge maintenance and repairs ensure the safety of citizens and increase the longevity of the bridge. Routine maintenance is an annual expense on a case by case basis.
