| | | | | | | | | Background: | The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has asked Nassau County to approve a temporary construction agreement that connects a two-lane roadway from US Highway 17 (US 17) to Miner Road, which includes installation of a new signal and minor widening improvements at the intersection of US 17. The Construction Agreement, Contract No. CM 3032, allows the County to make improvements within the FDOT right of way to construct the intersection improvements. The improvements in the FDOT right of way will become the property of FDOT upon acceptance of the work.
The County has been working with FDOT on the William Burgess Extension, which is under design by GAI Consultants. The Engineering Consultant’s drawings for permitting of the intersection improvements at US 17 and William Burgess are required to be submitted on FDOT’s web based permitting application. The Construction Agreement (CM 3032) names Robert T. Companion, County Engineer, as the Construction Coordinator. | | Request: | | Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign the Temporary Construction Agreement, Contract No. CM 3032, for FDOT right of way improvements at US 17 and William Burgess and any future web-based applications and associated Resolution approving Robert T.
