On October 12, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners approved Ordinance 2020-31 which rescinded Ordinance 76-10, (as amended, Ordinance 74-32, 82-14, 2002-31, 2003-41, 2003-42 and 2006-85); providing for restrictions for driving and parking in the unincorporated areas of the beaches of Nassau County; providing for regulation as to the use of the unincorporated beaches; providing for automatic review and providing an effective date.
Per the current Ordinance, a Public Hearing is required on or before October 31, 2021 to determine the rules for beach driving and camping from November 1-April 30 (non-turtle nesting season). As the County is currently involved in several studies and initiatives related to beaches within Nassau County, staff recommends maintaining the current rules related to beach driving and camping through October 31, 2022. A Public Hearing would be required on or before October 31, 2022 to determine beach driving and camping from November 1-April 30th. |
