Item Title:Consideration of Posting No Thru Truck Signs on Thomas Creek, Acree, and Ratliff Roads
Date:1/10/2022
Department:Engineering Services
Background:

Engineering Services has received requests to post “No Thru Trucks” traffic signs on roadways listed below.  After reviewing the requests, the County Engineer recommends the signs to be posted.  Heavy truck loads may decrease the  surface life of the County’s local roads. Local deliveries only would be allowed.

The County Commission has the authority to regulate or prohibit specific types of vehicles under Florida Statute 316.  Staff is recommending that the Commission restrict traffic to local deliveries only, and post signage for “No Thru Trucks”.

Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
The cost to install the signs and maintain in future years is minimal.
Action Requested and Recommendation:
Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a Resolution which prohibits thru trucks on Thomas Creek Road, Acree Road, and Ratliff Road.
