Background:

On October 14, 2019, The BOCC approved and the Chairman executed the Interlocal Agreement Regarding Veterans' Suicide Prevention (Northeast Florida Fire Watch Council) forming a separate multi-jurisdictional governmental entity, made up of representatives from each County, aligning together and using a cooperative, coordinated and collaborative approach to help reduce the number of suicides among military veterans living in Northeast Florida.

 

The Interlocal Agreement Regarding Veterans' Suicide Prevention (Northeast Florida Fire Watch Council) designated the City of Jacksonville as the Administrator of the Fire Watch Council and set forth specific responsibilities as the Administrator.  The First Amendment to Interlocal Agreement Regarding Veterans' Suicide Prevention appoints St. Johns County as the host county and details the responsibilities as the host county.
