| | | | | | | | | Background: | The purpose of the Construction Board of Adjustment & Appeals is to hear and decide on appeals of decisions and code interpretations made by the Building Official and the Fire Official, relating to the Florida Building Codes, National Electric Codes and Fire Codes. Also, to hear unsafe structure cases and determine if they are in violation of the Unsafe Building Abatement Ordinance, and set time limits for owners to abate the public nuisance by repairing or demolishing the structure.
The Board is made up of seven (7) members and are to include the following:
- One (1) member with a background in a fire-related occupation
- Three (3) members with a background in a construction-related occupation
- One (1) member with a background in Engineering/Architecture occupation
- Two (2) members with any occupational background
