Background:

The ADA Advisory Board was established in 1995 and consists of the following:

  • 1 County Commissioner
  • The County Attorney
  • Health Dept. Rep
  • School Board Rep
  • The Building Official
  • 1 Representative from the Supervisor of Elections, Tax Collector, and Sheriff (3 total)
  • 1 Facilities Maintenance employee serving as the designated ADA Coordinator

 

Resolution No. 2019-115 (attached) adopted the Nassau County Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA)/504 Transition Plan and designates William (Billy) Stonebreaker as the ADA Coordinator. Mr. Stonebreaker has retired from the County so staff respectfully requests that Public Works Director, Doug Podiak, be designated to take his place.

Request:
Approve a Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Nassau County, Florida, amending the Nassau County Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA)/504 Transition Plan, designating Public Works Director, Doug Podiak, as the ADA Coordinator.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
There is no financial impact, however it is important that the County has an ADA Coordinator to oversee all County facilities and to ensure that they are all complaint.
Action Requested and Recommendation:
Approve a Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Nassau County, Florida, amending the Nassau County Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA)/504 Transition Plan, designating Public Works Director, Doug Podiak, as the ADA Coordinator.
