| | | | | | | | | Background: | The Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan (PROSMP), adopted on January 25, 2021, included the requirement that trails designated as future facilities on the County’s Future Transportation Map Series (FTMS) be implemented by requiring developments to construct the section related to their development at the time development occurs. In February, the Board adopted a policy to allow fee-in-lieu as an alternative to sidewalk and trail construction. Concurrent with CPA21-009 and CPA21-010, staff proposes to amend Section 29-46(b)(3) to recognize the recently-adopted fee-in-lieu program for trail facilities.
The Planning and Zoning Board recommended denial of the proposed Ordinance at its April 19, 2022 meeting. However, the item is scheduled to be reheard by the Planning and Zoning Board at its June 7, 2022 meeting.
