| | | | | | | | | Background: | On February 14, 2022 a Public hearing was held regarding revisions to Ordinance 99-17, Roadway and Drainage Standards, as presented at the January 10, 2022 workshop including the Sidewalk Fee-in-Lieu Policy and the Volume Sensitive Areas Map.
The Board directed staff to meet with stakeholders to review the Sidewalk-Fee-In-Lieu portion of the proposed ordinance. Based on the feedback received from stakeholders, the attached modification retains the fee-in-lieu policy per the Comprehensive Plan and allows for sidewalk exemptions in Article 7 and variance request in Article 8 for rural residential development. | | Request: | | Approve the Sidewalk Fee-in-Lieu Policy created per Board direction following a public hearing held on February 14, 2022, regarding revisions to Ordinance No. 99-17, Roadway and Drainage Standards. | | Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens: | Reviewing and updating ordinances may have an affect on citizens for years to come, however, stakeholder’s meetings and public hearings allow greater transparency for citizens to be involved in the process.
| | Action Requested and Recommendation: | Staff requests the Board of County Commissioners approve the Sidewalk Fee-In-Lieu Policy as modified to be included in Ordinance 99-17 with an effective date of May 1, 2022.
