Item Title:Approve Agreement with FDOT (CM 3168) for Construction & Maintenance Agreement for the improvements to River Road from CR 121 to US 1

Background:
In January 2022 the Board of County Commissioners approved a Local Agency Program Agreement (LAP) for the construction and Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) project management of safety improvements on River Road from CR 121 to US 1, Contract No. CM3117, in the amount of $203,016, which will be reimbursed to the County.

As a follow up to the LAP Agreement, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has sent a Construction & Maintenance Agreement for the improvements to River Road from CR 121 to US1, Contract No. CM3168.  This agreement specifically states that the County will be responsible for maintenance of the improvements unless the agreement is terminated by FDOT in writing.
Request:
Approve the resolution authorizing the Chairman to sign the Construction & Maintenance Agreement with FDOT for the safety improvements on River Road from CR 121 to US 1, Contract No. CM3168.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
The safety improvements to River Road from CR 121 to US 1 will improve the roadway conditions for the citizens of Nassau County.  The maintenance costs will be minimal, and will be included in future Road Department operating budgets.
Action Requested and Recommendation:
Approve the resolution authorizing the Chairman to sign the Construction & Maintenance Agreement with FDOT for the safety improvements on River Road from CR 121 to US 1, Contract No. CM3168.

Funding Source:
This agreement is strictly for the maintenance of the construction improvements. The maintenance costs in future years will be minimal, and will be included in future Road Department operating budgets.
