On August 24, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), established the American Beach Water and Sewer District by Ordinance No.2020-26. The American Beach Water and Sewer District purpose is to construct water and sewer systems in the unincorporated area of the county within the boundaries of the District.
The American Beach Water and Sewer District is the best means of constructing and maintaining assets of water and sewer systems within the District. Nassau County BOCC has contracted with the Florida Governmental Utility Authority to carry out all professional engineering and capital project administration services during the design, bidding and construction phases of the improvement project.
Invitation to Bid NC21-029 for the construction of American Beach Water and Sewer District Well and Septic Tank Phase Out Program closed on February 24, 2022. Nassau County received two bids in response to ITB NC21-029:
- US Water Services Corporation $7,831,538
- United Brothers Development Corporation $9,670,335.55
In addition to the County's evaluation of bids received, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection provided an additional review and issued an Authorization to Award to US Water Services Corporation on April 12, 2022. |
