Nassau County is required to perform assessments, maintain a hazardous waste collection program and small quantity generator notification and verification programs pursuant to Florida Statues Ch.403. The Northeast Florida Regional Council (NEFRC) performs these assessments and programs in compliance with State law and County staff has determined it be in the best interest of the County to contract with the Northeast Florida Regional Council to provide the management of the County's Small Quantity Generators of Hazardous Waste Program.
The NEFRC shall conduct the Small Quantity Generator (SQG) Assessment, Notification and Verification program in accordance with Sections 403.7225, 403.7265(8), 403.7234 and 403.7236 Florida Statutes (F.S.); Rules 62-731, Florida Administrative Code. Implementation of the County SQG program shall be compliant with State of Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection requirements for the SQG program.
The requested contract sets forth the specific tasks to be performed by the NEFRC to maintain the County's SQG Program. The contract shall go into effect upon final signature and will end on June 30, 2027, which will allow for annual SQG program work to be completed for Florida Fiscal Years 2022-2023, 2023-2024, 2024-2025, 2025-2026, and 2026-2027 at a cost of $5,000 annually. |
