Item Title:Rejection of Bids for Citrona Drive Pedestrian Improvements (NC22-013)

Background:
From May 4, 2022, through May 25, 2022, Nassau County solicited proposals for the construction of Citrona Drive Pedestrian Improvements (NC22-013).  Proposals were due on June 8, 2022, and two responses were received.  One bid was substantially higher than anticipated and exceeds estimated construction costs.  The second bid was incomplete. 

Staff consider it to be in the best interest of the County to reject the construction proposals that were received for the Citrona Drive Pedestrian Improvements (NC22-013), and recommend the Commissioners approve to re-bid the project.
Request:
Staff recommends the Board reject proposals for the construction of Citrona Drive Pedestrian Improvements (NC22-013) and authorize staff to rebid the project.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
Rebidding the Citrona Drive Pedestrian Improvement project will ensure adequate competition, and costs to complete the project are fair and reasonable. 
Action Requested and Recommendation:
Staff recommends the Board reject proposals for the construction of Citrona Drive Pedestrian Improvements (NC22-013) and authorize staff to rebid the project.
