Background:
A tentative budget must be delivered to the Board of County Commissioners in July. No later than Thursday, August 4, 2022, the Property Appraiser must be notified of the tentative millage, as well as date and time of the first public hearing on the FY 2022-2023 budget.
Request:
Presentation of the FY 2022-2023 tentative budget; set tentative millage rates and date/time of first and final public hearings (staff requests Monday, September 12, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. and Monday, September 26, 2022 at 6:00p.m.); authorize OMB to electronically submit the DR-420's.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
The budget is a blueprint to services and planned project/improvements to be carried out in Nassau County. Setting a millage determines the amount of ad valorem taxes to be collected for assisting in implementation of the adopted budget.
