As part of Nassau County's Employee Recognition Program, during the months of April, May and June, Human Resources received 11 submissions from employees, nominating their co-workers for Employee of Quarter.
Among these nominations were:

- Andrew Prokopiak, Development Services Planner
- Martin Pruitt, Animal Control Officer
- Thomas Ray, Plans Examiner
- Joseph Usina, Safety/Equipment Trainer
- Hank Tedder, Facilities Technician II
- David White, Journeyman Maintenance Technician
After carful review and consideration, while the decision was difficult, the Employee Recognition Committee voted and agreed to award Mr. Martin Pruitt Nassau County’s 2022 – 2nd Quarter, Employee of the Quarter.
In addition to obtaining his certification for Canine, Feline, Exotic Animals and Reptiles in May, Mr. Martin also received two emails from citizens commending him and thanking him for his services. One email came in April thanking Mr. Martin for speaking at the Yulee Library during their Talktail Hour about rescuing abused animals and overseeing their recovery to become happy, healthy pets. The second email arrived in June expressing great appreciation for Mr. Martin’s handling of a pack of aggressive dogs which were trespassing onto the citizen’s property and creating chaos. The citizen continued, stating “I truly believe Officer Pruitt’s exceptional professionalism is the primary reason for the peaceful and amicable resolution.”
Mr. Martin has exemplified Nassau County’s Customer Care Standards in going above and beyond and Nassau County is proud to recognize them.
