Due to supply chain issues, chassis manufacturers are not producing enough chassis to keep up with demand for orders. The vendor, Ten-8, has suggested that we give a letter of intent for our next two fiscal years' purchases to secure a spot in the chassis order queue and lock in current pricing. Failure to do so would place us at the bottom of the ordering queue, behind all current in-process orders and all pre-orders. The letter of intent should not be construed to be legally binding or a commitment of funds at this time.
Repair costs for our current fleet are increasing and our current fleet continues to age. Out of necessity, units are being kept past their economical replacement point.
Nassau County will be piggybacking the Florida Sheriff's Association contract in accordance with the County’s purchasing policy. |
