Background:
In August, 2020 the Georgia Outdoor began to pursue one off-premise billboard at Parcel No. 39-2N-26-0000-0001-0030 in the County, which included Georgia Outdoor representing that the County sign off on its Florida Department of Transportation permit form. In an effort to properly control off-site commercial signs, staff misinterpreted a vacant on-site pole sign as an off-site commercial sign, denying the application. On February 16, 2021, Georgia Outdoor sent the County a Notice of Claim pursuant to Florida Statute 768.28(6)(a) regarding the approval of the appeal application and permit application. The Parties wish to resolve their dispute over Georgia Outdoor's pursuit of one off-premise billboard on the referenced parcel.
