Item Title:Request for Advance of Tax Collector Commission

Background:

Pursuant to Florida Statute 192.102, the Tax Collector is requesting $549,118 ($274,559 x 2 months) advance on commissions to be earned from the upcoming 2022 tax roll (FY 2022-2023).  The advance will be used to cover office expenses in October and November when expenditures are anticipated to be greater than commissions earned.

Request:

Tax Collector's Business - Consider request for a $549,118 advance of Tax Collector commissions, to be earned during collection of the 2022 tax roll, as required by F.S. 192.102, and to be repaid to the Board of County Commissioners in December 2022.

Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:

Advance of Tax Collector commissions will cover the months of October and November 2022, with repayment from the Tax Collector to the Board of County Commissioners in December 2022.

Action Requested and Recommendation:
