Item Title:Set Workshop re: ARPA

Background:

On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was signed into law and established the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF). The County has been allocated $17.2 million of SLFRF to respond to the economic impacts.  The Treasury’s final guidance was effective on April 1, 2022. The County Commissioners approved the Nassau Florida Prosperity Plan outlining critical success factors and general guidelines for implementation of ARPA funding, as amended by the BOCC strategic direction.

 

On July 25, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners executed Contract No. CM3209 with Grant Thornton Public Sector, LLC for American Rescue Plan Program Administration.  The proposed workshop will allow County Staff and Grant Thornton to review ARPA as it applies to Nassau County and discuss the potential use of the funds based on the directives and priorities of the BOCC.

Request:
Consider setting a Workshop for a presentation and discussion of the American Rescue Plan Act, and amended Prosperity Plan with Staff and Program Administrator, Grant Thornton.  Staff recommends October 10, 2022 at 4:00pm.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
Allows Nassau County to respond to the economic impacts brought on by the pandemic.
