The County has a project for the construction of the rehabilitation of gravity sanitary sewer collection systems components located in the Nassau-Amelia Utility (NAU), Nassau County, Florida.
The project is located within the following communities:
- Florence Point
- Seam Marsh
- Marsh Creek
- Sparkleberry
- Beachwood
The project involves the rehabilitation of gravity sanitary sewers and manholes, including all materials, labor, and ancillary work necessary to rehabilitate the specified components. The rehabilitation includes spot repairs utilizing chemical pressure grouting, spot repairs involving excavation and partial replacement of gravity pipes, in-situ lining of sewers utilizing cured-in-place pipe (CIPP), and coating rehabilitation of manholes.
Section 1-141(d)(3) of the Nassau County Code of Ordinances, Purchasing Policy, allows piggybacking for the same commodity or service allows for piggybacking of other governmental entity contracts. Staff recommends utilizing the City of Daytona’s contract for the rehabilitation of gravity sanitary sewer collection systems components located in the Nassau-Amelia Utility (NAU), Nassau County, Florida. The City of Daytona Beach’s contract allows for the use of unit price contracting on an as needed basis. The unit prices of the City of Daytona Beach contract are fair, reasonable, and competitive. Fair and reasonableness was determined by price comparison of bids received for this type of work. |
Consider the following: 1) Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign Piggyback Agreement CM3264 (City of Daytona Beach Contract 0118-2600) and to allow work authorizations to be brought forth to the Board for projects as needed; 2) Approve CM3264-WA01, Nassau Amelia Utility Infiltration & Inflow Reduction Project, in the not to exceed amount of $546,093.85 |
